More Pics

I forgot to put pictures of the shirt Grandma Barbara got for Evan for Halloween. I put in on again the other day. Grandpa Tim is a Broncos Fan so he got Evan a Bronco's Jersey and another outfit that he will be able to wear soon.

Merry Christmas!

Evan got his first set of Christmas PJ's. They even said Baby's first Christmas. For Christmas Eve we went to Gram and Gramps house. Evan fell asleep saying his prayers.
Evan woke up to eat at 6am so we fed him and then helped Him open his presents and had a fun time.

He got his first set of sport balls (soccer, basketball, baseball and football). Here is Evan's first Christmas tree. It looks like it is leaning a bit.
Evan even got some presents from Santa. Santa brought him the little penquin because when he sleeps he make a little noise that sounds like a penquin.

Ward Christmas Party

Well at the Ward Christmas party, Sharon came and got Evan from me so I could finish eating. When she came back he was dressed to play the part of baby Jesus. Not really but he was dressed up. So cute. Next year he might be able to be in the program, we will see.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Grandpa Tim came to visit us for Thanksgiving. We had a good time enjoying company and the food. Evan and Grandpa watched some football games.

On Friday we went up by Bartlet lake to have a picnic. Evan and I took a picture with the lake behind us it is getting low.

Evan also turned 9 weeks old on Saturday and he is getting so big. He isn't bigger than the green bear yet.

Evan is growing so fast. I put him in the corner of the couch and he just sat there.

After his bath we put him in his robe and put his diaper on.

This was last weekend when he was 7 weeks old. We didn't get a chance to put pictures on so here it is.

Here is a picture of Josh given Evan a bath.

I fell asleep with Evan. I must have been so tired that I forgot to take my glasses off.

Well this is his 8 week old picture. He is getting so big and handsome.

Happy Boy

Smiles

Evan likes to do what we do sometimes. We open our mouth and he opens his and then smiles.

For Grandma

Evan was playing with the bouncer seat that Grandma Barbara gave him while she was here. He enjoyed playing with the toys and bouncing.

Sunday, November 2, 2008

Evan is 5 weeks old. We tried on a new outfit for church because be is growing out of the newborn one he has been wearing. He was enjoying laying in his little bouncer that Grandma Barbara got him. He doesn't know what to do with the toys yet, but he will figure it out. He also likes to sleep in it because it plays music and vibrates. It also bounces a little bit be we have to do that for him right now.

He also likes to swing and he usually falls asleep while he is in there.

First Smile on Camara and First Halloween

Today we went to the mall to walk (trying to get some exercise) and Evan was hungry so we went to the food court to sit and feed him. When he was done he fell asleep and looked so peaceful so I took a picture with my phone. I got lucky because he smiled as I shot the picture. He smiles a lot and even laughs when he is asleep. It makes you wonder what he is dreaming about and I know people say it is just gas but I don't think so. This other picture was on October 21st and he was just hanging out on the couch.

1 Month old Saturday

I can't believe that Evan is a month old already. It seems like we were just in the hospital and coming home.

We went to the trunk-or-treat on Saturday night. Josh was a pirate and Evan was a parrot. We dressed him in a green onsie and make a colorful feather tail or him. Marcie held Evan for a little while, until he got hungry.

On Sunday we went to my Aunt Cassie's house. Evan had fun with his cousins, who you can tell loved holding him.

We also took Evan's one month picture, as you can see he wasn't very happy about that.

Cat Nap

Today we came over to Gramps and Grams for dinner. After dinner Josh had to go to a meeting so Evan and I took a little nap. He ate and then fell asleep on my chest.

Tara came over to hold Evan. She was so excited to come over so Velva went and picked her up. She was even planning on the next time she could come over when Evan would be here. She was so funny she was negotiating Hockey tickets with Josh so that she could help watch Evan. It is cute.

Tonight Evan made the laughing noise again while he was smiling, he was sleeping. It makes you wonder what he is thinking.

Growing boy

It was suggested by the lady that taught our birthing class that you should take a picture of the baby with an object once a month so that you can see how much he has grown. This is at 1 week and 2 weeks. There isn't much difference but it is still good to see the picture.

Here are also pictures of his first bath at home, he liked it.

Eighth International Art Competition

About 6 months ago or so I noticed that the church was having an Art Competition and I decided that I was going to do a picture and submit it. Well the time flew by and I didn't have a picture done so I borrowed a picture of the Salt Lake Temple that I did for my Aunt Cassie for her birthday and took a picture so that I could submit it. I don't know if anything will come of it or if it will even be displayed but it is worth a try.

Artists were encouraged to create works of art reflecting the theme and title of the exhibition, Remembering the Great Things of God. This theme is drawn from scriptures that teach the importance of acknowledging and remembering God's works, promises, and covenants to His children.

One of the great things of God is the Temples we have across the world and the many more that are to come. The Salt Lake Temple took 40 years to build and it is still a wonder today.

Evan Joshua Woodward

Well I haven't been here for a while. There are many new and exciting things to talk about but the most important is the birth of our son, Evan Joshua Woodward. He was born September 27th 2008 at 1:09 pm. He was 9lbs 7.3 ounzes and 21 inches long. As you can see in the picture he has a lot of hair and chubby cheeks. His cheeks have thinned out some but he is still a BIG boy.

I had to have a C-section because my cervix wouldn't open past a 6. Evan and I were not in any danger but if we waited too long it could have been dangerous, so the Doctor recommended the C-section. And with the size of him I think it would have gone this way anyway. I wasn't in any pain because the Epideral worked great. I was shivering uncontrollably, which they said was a good thing because it meant the medication was working.

When they pulled him out the first thing they said was, "Look at that hair, look at those cheeks, man he is huge". I really didn't think he would be so big because Josh and I were both 6 lb babies.

We were told in the hospital that we would be there for 3-4 days but when the doctor came in on Monday she said, "you are going home today right," and we said, "oh we thought we had to stay 3-4 days". She said, "no, usually 2-3 days." We stayed one more day because Evan's Pediatrician was coming in the next day to do the Circumcision. So then I asked Josh, "Who said 3-4 days" and he said, "I don't know who told you 3-4 days". We both thought the other person had been told 3-4 days but we came to find out that Josh's mom asked the nurse what the usually time in the hospital was and the nurse said 3-4 days. We thought it was funny. I was glad to get out of there though because I couldn't get comfortable in the hospital bed because my tailbone hurt and they were checking vitals most of the night. Overall it was a good experience though.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my doctor was out of town so Dr. Snell delivered Evan, so when Dr. Newman came in to see us on Tuesday, he said, "I guess I have to be here for the next one". He is a funny doctor.

Josh's Brother Peter left for his mission on Monday September 30th so Evan made it just in time to meet his Uncle. They bonded.

My Mom and Grandma got to come and spend a couple days and we had a good time. My mom gave Evan some good advise when she left, she said, "You be a good boy for you mom but you give your dad heck." I thought it was funny because Josh doesn't think he will have any problems with Evan. We will see.

Evan had his first Doctor appointment on Tuesday. He is now 9lbs 12 ounces and 22 inches long. He is very strong and is moving his head a lot. He can even roll onto his side. It looks like he is going to progress very quickly.
I'm a Mormon.
