Eighth International Art Competition

About 6 months ago or so I noticed that the church was having an Art Competition and I decided that I was going to do a picture and submit it. Well the time flew by and I didn't have a picture done so I borrowed a picture of the Salt Lake Temple that I did for my Aunt Cassie for her birthday and took a picture so that I could submit it. I don't know if anything will come of it or if it will even be displayed but it is worth a try.
Artists were encouraged to create works of art reflecting the theme and title of the exhibition, Remembering the Great Things of God. This theme is drawn from scriptures that teach the importance of acknowledging and remembering God's works, promises, and covenants to His children.
One of the great things of God is the Temples we have across the world and the many more that are to come. The Salt Lake Temple took 40 years to build and it is still a wonder today.

Evan Joshua Woodward

Well I haven't been here for a while. There are many new and exciting things to talk about but the most important is the birth of our son, Evan Joshua Woodward. He was born September 27th 2008 at 1:09 pm. He was 9lbs 7.3 ounzes and 21 inches long. As you can see in the picture he has a lot of hair and chubby cheeks. His cheeks have thinned out some but he is still a BIG boy.
I had to have a C-section because my cervix wouldn't open past a 6. Evan and I were not in any danger but if we waited too long it could have been dangerous, so the Doctor recommended the C-section. And with the size of him I think it would have gone this way anyway. I wasn't in any pain because the Epideral worked great. I was shivering uncontrollably, which they said was a good thing because it meant the medication was working.
When they pulled him out the first thing they said was, "Look at that hair, look at those cheeks, man he is huge". I really didn't think he would be so big because Josh and I were both 6 lb babies.
We were told in the hospital that we would be there for 3-4 days but when the doctor came in on Monday she said, "you are going home today right," and we said, "oh we thought we had to stay 3-4 days". She said, "no, usually 2-3 days." We stayed one more day because Evan's Pediatrician was coming in the next day to do the Circumcision. So then I asked Josh, "Who said 3-4 days" and he said, "I don't know who told you 3-4 days". We both thought the other person had been told 3-4 days but we came to find out that Josh's mom asked the nurse what the usually time in the hospital was and the nurse said 3-4 days. We thought it was funny. I was glad to get out of there though because I couldn't get comfortable in the hospital bed because my tailbone hurt and they were checking vitals most of the night. Overall it was a good experience though.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my doctor was out of town so Dr. Snell delivered Evan, so when Dr. Newman came in to see us on Tuesday, he said, "I guess I have to be here for the next one". He is a funny doctor.
Josh's Brother Peter left for his mission on Monday September 30th so Evan made it just in time to meet his Uncle. They bonded.
My Mom and Grandma got to come and spend a couple days and we had a good time. My mom gave Evan some good advise when she left, she said, "You be a good boy for you mom but you give your dad heck." I thought it was funny because Josh doesn't think he will have any problems with Evan. We will see.
Evan had his first Doctor appointment on Tuesday. He is now 9lbs 12 ounces and 22 inches long. He is very strong and is moving his head a lot. He can even roll onto his side. It looks like he is going to progress very quickly.

First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage...

Well you guessed it... then comes baby in the baby carriage. I found out about 1 1/2 weeks ago that I am pregnant and am I feeling it. I went to the doctor yesterday for the first exam. We did the scope and got pictures. The original due date was September 29th but after the scope the doctor said I was farther along than I thought. So I am due September 23rd. That means I have to go through the entire hot summer pregnant.
Well a new adventure has just begun.

SUPERCROSS WEEKEND

Well this weekend my Family (Mom, Breann, Ricky and Joe) came to town to see the Supercross on Saturday. They got here Friday afternoon. They came from Utah. When they got here we went to a couple of motorcycle shops to see if there were any riders at any of them. We went to the one in Anthem and we got to see RYAN VILLOPOTO and we got his autograph. We went home and had dinner. I made a roast with potatos and carrots, it was good but the meat was a little dry. I think it was dry because I cooked it too long. Oh well I learned better for next time.
Saturday was the race day. Before we went we took Ricky down the road to the lot were some kids made some jumps for bicycles. Ricky rode around for a little while and then we went to the Races. We went early because we had pit passes and we could go in and meet the riders. We got there a little before 12pm and walked around. They had a lot of activities outside the arena, so it was a lot of fun.
Sunday. We woke up early even though we were up late. Breann wanted me to make her a shirt from the pictures we took at the races so we made her shirt and just hung out until it was time to go to Church. They left when we left for church. They called us last night and told us they got home safely. What a fun weekend.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
For New Year's Eve we went to Aunt Cassie's house. We played games and watched TV. They built a fire in the firepit outside. Some of the kids roasted marshmellows, some ate them and some had smores. When the clock struck 12 we banged pots and pans and made lots of noise.
Today we relaxed. I put movies on my ipod and played the Wii. We went to Josh's parent's house for dinner. Josh relaxed on the couch and played with his ipod as seen is this picture.
Hope you all have a Happy New Year!
