A morning at the park

Today was a beautiful day and I took Evan to the park. We played there for about an hour and a half. He loves the swings and today he went down the slide many times by himself. He also took it truck and sent it down each time before he could come down. I also thought it was funny because he would go feet first on his stomach instead of his butt.

After the park we went to Walmart to get Josh's birthday present and a few other things. Evan always makes the cash registers day. They always smile at him and say hi. When we leave he always blows them kisses. On the way home he fell asleep at 11:30am. I guess that is what happens when you wake up at 7am. I tried to keep him awake long enough to eat lunch but it didn't happen. He then slept for two hours until his gram came to get him for the rest of the afternoon.

Applesauce

Evan was wearing my hat one day and I thought it was a cute picture. I have had this had for more than 10 years and I think I have pictures of my nephews and cousins in this hat. How cute.

Lately Evan has been drinking applesauce and this is how it ends up on his face. He also drinks his yogurt. I guess what ever works.

No More!

You may be wondering about my title. Well Evan's new favorite thing to say is "no more". You ask him if he wants to eat and he says "no more". You ask him if he wants to get up and he says "no more". I will have to record him saying this to get the full effect.

Another thing he says when he is ready to go to bed, he will say "ni night" and put us to the bed. I can't believe how much he has grown and he is getting so big.

Evan and Computers

Evan loves computers so Gram and Gramps got their old one out for him. He knows how to turn it on and he even knows how to use the mouse.

While I am working he always wants to be right there with me. He loves to do what I am doing.
Evan is now 16 months old. Evan and I were looking at his book I made with pictures of him the other night and I cannot believe how much he has changed. At his 15 month checkup the doctor said he will be saying 15-20 words by the 18 month checkup. I thought to myself I think he is already doing that. He really says a lot of words and he likes to copy what we say. So I told Josh watch what you say around him when you are watching your basketball games.
Yesterday I had 2 soccer games. I haven't played since I heart by leg. But anyway Evan went with me and Jennifer Hernandez (one of the girls from church who I play soccer with her mom) watched him for me. He did so good. After the first game he was tired and fell asleep for about an hour. He clapped and ran and played at the park. What a fun day.

October Fun

This was from October but I thought it was funny. We put the vampire teeth in his mouth and he just laughed and had a great time.

So Big!

Last night Evan an I were looking through his baby book of his first year. I couldn't believe how much he has changed. He is getting so big and doing so many things. We got him a little basketball hoop for Christmas and he just loves it. He is already dunking it.

He likes to hang on the basket at Gram and Gramps house.
He doesn't let us hold him much anymore when he is sleeping so you have to get it in while you can or as long as he will let you.
He loves to play the piano and loves to dance while do it.
Most of all I think he likes being able to feed himself even if he does make a huge mess. He gets mad and won't eat if you don't let him do it.
He is so much fun. He is talking more and more. He says a new work almost everyday.

Evan is so smart

Today I thought I would just write some things about Evan and how smart he is:

  • He already counts to 3 and it is so cute. One day we were walking into church and he was mumbling something and then he just let go of his legs (I forgot to mention that Josh and I were holding his hands). Well he did again but this time I heard 3. So the next time I listened a little closer and he said 1, 2, 3 and we swung him up in the air. So cute.

  • One day I was working at the computer and I have a picture of Evan on the desktop. He looks at the monitor and says "Its you", I immediately said, "no its you" and realized he is copying what I say to him when we look at the picture. So now I say who is it and then I say "Its me" to see if he will say it.

  • He knows the difference between cars and trucks and he loves to look at them. He will see a truck and say truck, and the same thing with cars.
  • He also knows how to say dog and knows them by the sound they make.
  • He can point at the picture of the temple and say "Temple".

I am sure there are more things that I am missing so I will just have to add more later.

I took this picture at the while we were at the Temple with the young women. I printed it and put it and did something called "Decropodge" and it turned out really good. I wanted to put a picture of the Temple in Evan's room so he will always have a goal to go there someday.
I'm a Mormon.
